Infinity 1300a Features

Class D Subwoofer Amps
Efficiency is the benefit of the Infinity Reference Series Class D subwoofer amplifiers. A higher percentage of the power the amp extracts from the car's charging system is converted into output to the speakers, and less is wasted as heat. That is really important if you're trying to provide power to a 1000-watt amplifier. Class D technology turns the analog input signal into a series of pulses that can be amplified more efficiently by transistors used as switches, rather than valves. They're either on and operating at their most efficient level, or they're off. The pulses are converted back into an analog signal by an output filter.

CEA-2006-Compliant
All Infinity amplifiers are tested in accordance with CEA-2006, which provides a testing procedure to help customers compare amplifiers accurately--apples to apples. Specs are based on industry-accepted standards, rather than on the whims of amplifier companies' marketing departments. Look for the CEA-2006 logo when comparing amplifiers, to be sure you're getting the power you're paying for.

Audiophile-Quality Full-Range Amplifiers
Class AB full-range amplifiers offer audiophile quality performance and the best compromise between efficiency, low distortion, maximum available headroom and output power.

Amps That Don't Break
Infinity amplifiers are tested according to the strictest and most demanding reliability-testing regimen ever designed for car audio amplifiers. They are shaken, baked, frozen, dropped and shocked--all while they're operating. When they've passed all these tests, they are tested again. The result is a series of amplifiers that just don't break.

DBO Bass-Optimization Circuit
provides superior control and adjustability, compared to traditional bass-boost. DBO is a 2nd order high-pass filter that can be adjusted between 20Hz and 80Hz. The boost (or Q) adjustment boosts the signal above the highpass filter frequency. Used with a sealed box, it can help to increase output for more "fun" if it's set to about 45Hz. If it's used with a vented box, it should be set at or slightly below the tuned frequency of the box. That will prevent woofer unloading, and provide more output at the frequency where the box is tuned and the woofer's excursion is minimized--where it can handle more power.

Onboard Electronic Crossovers
Reference Series amplifiers include 2nd order (12dB/octave) slopes and are continuously variable from 32Hz to 200Hz.

Variable Bass-Boost
Provides up to 12dB of boost at 50Hz in the Reference Series full-range amplifiers.

Direct-Connect Terminals
Eliminate the need for additional solder-on or crimp-on terminals and provide an easy and reliable connection for power, ground and speaker wires.

Full-Range Preamp Outputs

Edge-Driven, Mylar-Titanium Tweeter
The JBL GTO428 uses a 3/4 inch (19-millimeter) Mylar-titanium (My-Ti) tweeter with a large voice coil � much like a voice coil found in high-end home audio speakers. The benefit of the Mylar and titanium blend in making a tweeter is that it is lightweight and has remarkable strength. At the same time, its large voice coil increases power handling and reduces distortion at high output levels. This tweeter design also helps create more seamless integration with the woofer. The GTO428's tweeter is even adjustable, so you can modify it to optimize the sound. The result? True, high-end, audiophile-quality performance.

Built-in Crossover Networks
Typical entry level mobile loudspeakers use low performance bass blockers to keep bass from going to the tweeter. Well, the JBL GTO428 is not your typical entry-level loudspeaker. By using a built-in crossover network with advanced high and low pass filters, the GTO428 creates a smooth transition between the woofer and tweeter. The result? Midrange vocals that sound so natural and lifelike you think you the artist were right in the car with you.

The JBL GTO428 uses a 4-inch (100-millimeter) woofer with the patent-pending JBL Plus One cone technology. Plus One technology gives the GTO428 more cone surface than competing models of the same size � up to 30 percent more in many cases. With a larger cone area, the GTO428 speakers provide higher efficiency and better bass response. Add a low-Q woofer design for higher bass output from the typical mounting location and 105-watt peak power handling, and the GTO428 will really get your car booming.

Powerful Performance

True 4-Ohm Topology
Low-impedance speaker voice coils extract more power from your amp for more powerful performance than high-impedance coils do. JBL GTO428 speakers use a lower-impedance voice coil than a typical 4-ohm speaker to extract the most power possible from all amplifiers engineered to drive loads of 4 ohms or less. And the GTO428 is compatible with both aftermarket head units and factory-installed systems. Since many factory-installed systems incorporate 2-ohm speakers and include amplifiers designed to drive 2-ohm loads, replacing those reduced-impedance speakers with a typical 4-ohm model will reduce the power output from the amplifier. For the most powerful performance, the GTO428 makes the best use of any amplifier by providing an optimum 2-ohm load.

An Easy Install

No special tools needed
Doing it yourself? JBL makes installing the GTO428 speakers a breeze. Designed as replacements for factory-installed OEM speakers, they easily install into nearly any factory-built 4" (100mm) location without any special tools or additional modifications. If you are upgrading an older set of aftermarket speakers, the GTO428's easy installation makes replacement simple as well. You'll be listening to your new JBL speakers in no time at all.

The Harman Kardon DVD31 is a versatile DVD audio/video player designed to meet the high performance standards of both audiophiles and videophiles. On the sound side, it provides complete audio control and bass management for DVD-Audio playback using analog outputs. On the video side, it performs progressive scanning, also referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, which creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. The DVD31 also offers 3:2 pulldown, which reassembles the frame sequence of your original film-based content from DVDs to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material.

The DVD31's comprehensive array of audio adjustments allows you to adjust the time delay, output level, and speaker size selection for excellent audio reproduction from all speakers in a multichannel home entertainment system. For quality, the DVD31 uses a Wolfson 192kHz/24-bit audio D/A converter, along with premium internal components in the audio signal path.

The DVD31 provides excellent video playback when used with a high-definition display, thanks to its leading-edge digital video technology that uses pixel-by-pixel processing, rather than the line-by-line technique employed by conventional DVD players. This is accomplished by using a digital signal processor for superior picture quality and smoother, more realistic images with more detail.

In addition to playing DVD-Audio and DVD-Video, the DVD31 plays Windows Media Audio (WMA), VCD, CD, CD-R/RW, WMA, MP3, DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-DA, CD-ROM multisession, and 96 kHz/24-bit audio discs, and it's also compatible with JPEG still-image files stored on compact discs. The player can also simultaneously play MP3 tracks and JPEG images and coordinate the two, automatically changing images with each MP3 track played in slideshow presentations. The unit's program, random, and repeat play modes operate with the files and folders on MP3 and WMA discs, as well as with DVDs and CDs.

The DVD31's key picture-search and convenience functions include frame-by-frame advance, smooth fast-scanning at x2, x4, x16, and x100 speeds, fine slow motion at x1/2, x1/4, x1/16, and x1/100 speeds, three picture-zoom settings with panning capability, parental lock, and many additional features.

The player includes progressive-scan and standard-scan component video outputs, which can output simultaneously with the S-video and composite video jacks. It also provides both coaxial and optical digital output, multichannel analog output, and stereo analog audio outputs. It comes with a full-featured, backlit, ergonomically designed remote control.
